Q: What do I need to bring?
A: A costume for the Jacuzzi and steam room session, preferably bikini style for ladies, and a pair of slip-on sandals or slippers. In winter, you are welcome to pack a pair of socks to keep your feet warm. We have seen all sorts of combinations and the only thing that matters is that you are most comfortable.
Q: Is massage safe during pregnancy?
A: Yes, except under certain medical conditions:
All oils used during treatments on pregnant ladies are essential oil free and safe. Our base oil is either a cold pressed extra virgin olive oil or grape seed oil. Swedish massage is the preferred massage method during pregnancy as it addresses many of the common discomforts one may experience at this time. However, as with any holistic approach to pregnancy you should consult your GP.
If in your first trimester, (first 12 weeks of pregnancy) we recommend that you discuss your treatment options with your GP before finalizing your booking with Indigo Fields.
The following conditions during any stage of pregnancy are of concern and it is strongly recommended that you obtain your GP’S consent:
- High risk pregnancy
- Previous pre-term labour
- High blood pressure
- Severe swelling
Please note: Your booking with Indigo Fields confirms that you have satisfied any concerns with regard to the treatments booked and that you have your GP’s consent.
Q: Is age a factor?
A: You do need to be physically able to maneuver steps and rustic pathways to reach our bomas where treatments are offered. Should you feel that you may have difficulty, please contact our Booking Office, the staff of which will endeavor to find a solution specifically geared to your needs.
